For this colored pencil assignment, the class was suppose to draw a Dum-Dum. After I got the general shape down I started to put in some color. Using Prismacolor, which really blended well with other colors, I got to work. I started off with the stick of the lollipop, adding white, silver, and gray. With light green and dark green I stared coloring in some the limes and starting using it for the words. I used yellow and gold for the lemons and a bit for the writing.
Since the light was focused on the top of the wrapper, I knew I had to include a lot of highlights and shadows. I didn't just use white for the wrapper, I used gray and silver also. I made sure that along the creases had darks in it, which was the most challenging part. I wasn't sure if I had enough shadow or too much sometimes. Once I took a step back the lollipop looked great! The only thing that I would change would be the shadow of the lollipop, it just looks a bit off to me. Otherwise, the outcome of this project is fantastic!
