I decided to make my Still Life Project on one of my favorite sketches. I started out with a light outline of the items. Since the light was coming from the right the left had to be dark, so I got to work. At first my shading wasn't smooth, but with some help from my table mate she gave me advice to improve the technique I was using. I also had to remember that the items that overlapped had to have darkness around the edges too.
My favorite part was drawing the big wine bottle. I really think I did well on making it look smooth and less rough. The bottle in the center of the page was the hardest to complete. I actually had to start over several times, because it either didn't look the way I wanted it to or it didn't have a curved effect I needed. After I got the curved looked down, the rest was pretty simple. I just added darkness when needed and smoothed out a couple spots. The kneaded eraser was my best friend during this project, it lightened up spots that were to dark instead of erasing things completely. This Still Life assignment was a success and I really liked working on it even with all the frustration.
