Ignacio Canales Aracil, a Spanish artist, creates upside-down baskets made from pressed flowers. This technique dates back thousands of years in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Aracil uses large cone shaped molds to create these masterpieces. The flowers dry on the molds for a month and are protected by adhesive to keep moisture out. I am really captured by this technique of sculpting. The pieces must have been very time consuming and Aracil had to have had a lot of patience and a delicate touch to not destroy the it.
