The class was assigned to draw a ourselves either mechanical, zombified, or with a crazy expression. I decided on zombie, because of my love for "The Walking Dead". I chose Prismacolors as my medium, because they blend really well and I had loads of colors to choose from. I started with the hair and used many shades of purples and blues to pull it together. It was my favorite part of the project!
I added some gashes with torn skin and blood to make it more creepy. I made the skin around the mouth and the chin bloody and torn, for the zombie effect of course. Just for kicks I made my right eye all white just to creep people out. The most challenging part of this project was the skin tone. I wanted it to looked washed out, because I was a zombie, but the challenge was I had such dark skin it was hard to pull off.
I decided to keep my same skin tone with bits of grey and made my hand almost completely grey as it was dead or rotting off. I really think I have progressed with PrismaColor, it's still not my favorite medium, but I would work with it again. I really liked this project, mostly because I could turn myself into a zombie!
