I decided to do a series of bird related things, because the bird whistle was the initial photo i took. I added a humming bird, an owl, an eagle, an angry bird and a bird bath. The class was introduced to the assignment of painting on the Ipad. The class went to the library for two days to get a first hand experience in this specific art. We were delayed for a bit, because the Ipads were getting the new update, so with some paper and a pencil we sketched out our ideas. The second day we really got to work using the Sketchbook App, which had a lot of similarity to Photoshop. We were to draw a portrait and include shading and highlights. I didn't really have a person in mind, so I just used a doodle. I've always had trouble doing two eyes, one always looks bigger or smaller than the other, so I decided to add a creepy look to the piece by sewing her eye shut. To be consistent I sewed her mouth shut also. I make her green, because I don't know, I thought it would look cool. I tried my best to add highlights and shadows, but with the limited layers, which was four, made it a challenge. I could have included some more shading in the hair, but the neck I did really well on, even with the limited time. I would like to do an assignment like this again, so that I can improve my skills. Our assignment was to Photoshop ourselves with a cartoon character. I thought it would be cool if it looked like I was fighting someone, because ironically I can't fight. Initially I was going to fight Robin, but I couldn't find any pictures that I liked. So, I changed it up and went with Goku from Dragon Ball Z. I had lots of options, mostly because the whole show he is in a fighting position. This assignment wasn't necessarily hard, but I liked it and maybe with a different theme I can do it again. The North Carolina State Fair is having a Graphic Design Competition for it's logo. I was honestly stumped and was sitting around for an idea to hit me like it usually does. After a few days, I just started doodling hoping I would get something out of it. During, one of my many snack breaks, my brother made a comment about craving a funnel cake. So I thought, "Hey one of the most infamous things at the fair is the food, so why not do something with that". So I started looking up popular fair foods and after a few images I decided to get to work.
For this project we had to combine two animals and since this was a partner assignment we had to include where our two animals would meet up. I combined a jaguar and a barn owl. I got a picture of a barn owl and took the skin of the jaguar and put it on the owl. I used the Clone tool to make all of my exchanges from jaguar to owl. I also used the jaguar eyes on the owl instead of keeping the black owl eye, which was a good choice because it goes better with the wings. I used the underbelly of the jaguar for the under the wing and I used the skin of the forehead for the chest area. I also thought it would look cool if i added some whiskers and a touch of spots for more of the jaguar in the face. I love the finished product of my jowl and I am so going to use this in my portfolio. Here is my partner's finished Beeagle. Once my partner sent me his finished Beeagle I had to use the Eraser tool, because some of the background was mixed in with the wings of the bee. I did my best although you can still see a touch of green. I used the Lasso tool to move the two animals to the jungle background. The two animals are flying high in the sky playing tag.For this project we had to manipulate a frog and conform it into a tongue. I took a frog and used the Inverse Wand Tool to take the frog away from it's background and put it along side the tongue. I used a tongue (which I believe is Miley's) and used the Clone Stamp to change the frog's green color to reds similar to tongue. The Clone Stamp is really cool! You get to take any color from the image and change the color of any other section that isn't the same color. I'll make sure to remember this, because i could definitely use it later on. Overall, I will not remember this projects as one of my favorites. Other that the Clone tool, nothing in this project peaked my interest. I'm still unsatisfied with the outcome, because I messed up on one of the layers and I could figure out how to fix it. On top of the that the shadow would work to my liking and I ended up not including it at all. On the bright side, I am really exited for out
