The class is getting accustomed to stop motion animation. Each person is to research an animator that catches their eye. I researched the animator, Christopher Kezelos. He turns his animations into a short film. He is known for his works The Maker and Zero. Zero won multiple awards such as, 2010 LA Short Fest: Best Animation and 2010 Naples International Film Festival: Best Short Film.I chose Christopher Kezelos, because his animation had a really smooth look to it, meaning when it was put together it wasn't choppy. His animations were short, sweet, and I liked the theme of every one.
I used the Watercolor technique to make my brother into a splatter art piece. Ironically, I took this picture right after he finished the Color Run. My friend, involuntarily, posed for the picture I used to make this text portrait. The words mean "friend" in several different languages. I added a few gradients to the background and the text and the outcome was spectacular. I used the Weaving effect for this piece. I love the way the Color Burn mode worked in my favor, making the background really pop.
For the social issues poster I decided to do Domestic Violence. I picked this issued, because over the course of the past couple years the reported cases of domestic violence have increased. Many more are probably not being reported, but I wanted to raise awareness as to how serious the effects could be. I don't relate to domestic violence nor do I know anyone that was a victim, but it is a social issue that is on the rise in social media.
Throughout the week the class was introduced to the technique of Animation. we were to film something then in Photoshop make it look like one thing in the film is moving and everything else is still. The worst thing about this project was the filming process. I tried filming at least five times to get it so the animation wouldn't move. I've learned that I don't have a steady hand and even the best one out of the bunch, moves a little bit. If I were to be able to keep a steady hand I would say the process was pretty easy. Mostly due to the fact that I kept messing up so I know how to make a animation like the back of my hand.
I will definitely go home and practice this. I want to succeed at this, because I go on Tumblr all the time and I see gifs like this. I want nothing more than to learn how to do this. THE CLASS WAS ASSIGNED TO PRODUCE A PIECE THAT INCLUDED AN ACTION SHOT OF OURSELVES AND USE THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE BRUSH TOOL. ANOTHER CLASSMATE TOOK A PICTURE OF ME JUMPING AND I INCLUDED A SPACEY BACKGROUND, BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD ADD A COOL EFFECT. ALTHOUGH IT LOOKED AWESOME WITH THE BACKGROUND IT NEEDED SOMETHING EXTRA. SO I TOOK A FEW DIFFERENT BRUSH TOOLS AND DID A LITTLE SOMETHING AROUND MY BODY.
I HAD A TROUBLE WITH WRAPPING THE BRUSH AROUND MYSELF. EVEN NOW, IT LOOKS LIKE MOST OF THE STROKES ARE BEHIND ME INSTEAD OF WRAPPING AROUND. OTHER THAN THAT I LIKE THE OUTCOME. IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD CHANGE THE BRUSH STROKE TO MAKE IT THICKER AND MORE OPACITY. MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT THE PROJECT IS THE BACKGROUND, I'M PROUD OF THE OUTCOME. |
